I believe that people should be portrayed in their own space. This can be their home or any other sacred spot, indoors or out, which has a special meaning. Personaly to me, a studio environment always feels somewhat restrictive, artificial and finite.
I plan every shoot individually. No idea is re-used over and over again. No two shoots are ever the same because everyone is different from the other.
What holds it all together is a personal, distinctive style of photography. I use lighting, framing and perspective in composing my photographs. I want to capture the personality of a subject, convey the mood of a moment or make a statement.
